A leading Engineering Contractor is looking for a Procurement Manager with experience within Fired Heaters to join the team on a permanent basis in Reading, UK.

Our client is a leading Engineering Contractor within the Petrochemical and Oil & Gas Markets.

They are now recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join the fired heaters department on a permanent basis in Reading, Berkshire, UK.

Business within Fired Heaters Operation is won on a Lump Sum Engineering and Material Supply (LSEM) basis, through international competitive bidding. Our Clients include the major oil producers, national oil companies, and international engineering contractors.

The Individual:
The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager of Fired Heaters Operations, and manage a team of 12 people, split between my clients offices in the South East UK and overseas execution centre. The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing their own budget and negotiating contracts with a typical spend in excess of £100mn.
The ideal candidate may have experience working within a similar large EPC contractor or within Manufacturing, Fabrication or Heavy Industries (inc. Power/Water/Steel/Energy sector) managing Lump Sum Contracts / Fixed Price. The role will involve travelling to India / other locations visiting suppliers/team members, and we estimate 20% travel a year.

Responsibilities include:

Regularly review the FH Operations, Terms and Conditions for Lump Sum execution with both the Procurement and Legal Services departments. Ensuring that they are up-to-date and effective.
Supervising the staff assigned to each Fired Heaters Operations project on Procurement processes.
Review and endorse all Project Procurement Strategies and regularly keep them updated.
Participate in key Purchase Order meetings.
Ensure effective and timely contract/PO closure.
Ensure that all projects are correctly resourced, led and will deliver to budget, schedule and cost the required materials and fabricated components.
Regularly review and maintain a comprehensive Suppliers List.
Ensure that all projects have adequate and well resourced expediting and inspection plans.
Regularly liaise with the Project Managers regarding the performance of Procurement on their respective projects.
Review and endorse the Procurement sections of the monthly Project Reports.
Regularly support Construction/Fabrication in the development of new fabricators.

For this role our client is offering an attractive salary of up to £70,000 dependent on experience plus package.
