Our client is recruiting for an experienced PMC Pipeline Design Engineer to work within the basic core services contract team on the development of a new petrochemicals complex.
Piping/Layout Engineer

Experienced PMC Pipeline Design Engineer required to work within the basic core services contract team on the development of a new petrochemicals complex. Working with the client's team to standardise and integrate the engineering, procurement and construction services to be provided by various detailed engineering contractors. Located in Milton Keynes, the role may also involve residency in the EPC contractors' offices during the detailed engineering phase, and at the work site
Expected duration is 15 Months
Broad and thorough knowledge of detailed engineering and Piping & Layout discipline management as related to the petrochemicals, oils & gas industry is required. Previous experience in a PMC role would be a major advantage.

Good written and verbal communication skills (English), IT ability and knowledge of common engineering software programs such as AutoCAD, Microstation and model review software etc essential.

• Previous PMC & Offshore experience on petrochemical projects is essential.
• Full and detailed knowledge of pipeline engineering and design as applied to offshore petrochemical projects.
• Ability to conceptualise and contribute to the master planning of a major petrochemical project is essential. Ability to standardise, integrate and enforce a common approach across several EPC contacts is also essential.
• Establish common discipline procedures and specifications for the project.
• Check and review EPC contractor's calculations, specifications, data sheets, requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and drawings. Prepare same when necessary.
• Check and review EPC contractor's and vendors proposals, documentation and drawings.
• Review other engineering deliverables specific to the piping & layout technical area such as Material Requisitions and PO's.
• Assess and report progress, manage EPC contractor's activities, attend technical meetings on behalf of client and take part in project decision making.
• Depth of knowledge of pipeline design, plant layout, piping design, materials specification, piping technical specifications, as applicable in the petrochem / oil & gas industry essential.
• Must be familiar with European, American and International standards applicable to the industry (as relevant to the Piping Engineering discipline). Knowledge of Indian standards and practices would be advantageous.
Requirements -
Degree qualified, preferably Chartered/Professional Engineer, with extensive experience.
Must be computer literate with a range of office automation (OA) applications. Working knowledge of CAD/CAE and review software.
Able to review, interpret, establish and work in accordance with Client/Company standards and procedures.
This is a contract role that is likely to last 15 months.
