Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced to professional to establish the new process and storage division of their energy company. The successful applicant will be rerequired to initiate and develop key business development opportunities within the energy Process and Storage sectors and manage the operational functions of the divisions. The successful candidate will need substantial experience in the Oil, Gas & Energy sectors and specific knowledge of very large process and storage plants (gas and energy mainly but oil too), also exp. Of Compressor Stations and Power Stations, etc is a must. They will have senior-level experience of the project life cycle from tendering through to project completion. Whilst leading and developing a professional business function the head of process will work with Business Development and in-house specialists and play a key role in attracting and winning business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Hons Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • MBA

Experience

  • Minimum of 17 years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience of successful management of a business/ business unit with £100 million+ annual turnover
  • Demonstrated experience of senior management experience
  • Demonstrated experience of winning a series of large projects and managing them to completion.
  • Established and good high level client contacts in the industry
  • Demonstrated good reputation in the indsutry
  • Experience of large scale nuclear plants, gas compressor stations and storage facilities and biomass power plant design and construction projects .

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishing the new Division

  • Successful establishment of the new Division within this Energy Group.
  • Successful establishment of the new Business within the industry and successful introduction to the key clients and industry.

Business Development and Realising Key Opportunities

Identifying and following through on key opportunities

  • Establishing, maintaining and progressing new and existing business links and opportunities with regard to developing and expanding the Divisional turnover
  • Achieving and, where possible, exceeding the Business Development and new work targets
  • Successfully managing and encouraging his/ her team to assist in the achievement of these targets

Divisional Operational Functions

  • Full responsibility to the Main Board Director for the performance of the Division and Department
  • Management of all the key operational functions of the Division and the Department
  • Achieving and, where possible, exceeding the Turnover, Profit and Operational targets 
  • Successfully managing and encouraging his/ her team to assist in the achievement/ realisation of the set targets
  • Developing and maintaining a culture of HSE responsibility and exemplary performance
  • Ensuring competence and capability of all staff in Division and Department
  • Ensuring group HSEQ commitments are fulfilled
  • Ensuring separate bi-monthly Divisional and Departmental meetings are held and minutes taken
  • Regular review and monitoring of processes and activities to ensure streamlined and effective operations that are not bogged down in 'red tape'
  • Identify, plan and implement a strategy for career progression of staff within the Division and the Department
  • Liaison with all managers and staff within other Divisions and Departments.
  • Setting, in full agreement with the Main Board Director, the Performance Targets for Safety, Environment, Turnover, Profitability, Overhead Expenditure, Absenteeism and Holidays.
  • Motivation and monitoring of the performance of staff.
  • Ensure that every employee's contribution fits into the overall aims of the Division and that they understand their aims and role within the business.
  • Ensuring a fair and strategic approach to the placement of Support Services Staff across the 3/ 4 Divisions.
