This global leader in the development and operation of Power Networks is recruiting for a Carbon Capture * Storage Expert for their offices in Newcastle.

Highly experienced in all aspects of power generation, transmission and distribution and with particular expertise in the regulatory and restructuring aspects of today's increasingly privatised industry our client is currently recruiting for a Carbon Capture & Storage Expert for their offices in Newcastle, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Our client seeks to strengthen their CCS team and become the international consultant of choice for support on CCS projects.

The role is to provide CCS related technical expertise to support the development and implementation of CCS projects.

The role will require a combination of technical and commercial skills and an understanding of energy policies, CCS related regulations and electricity markets.

Positions will be based in our clients' Newcastle office and will require travel within the UK and overseas.

Main Duties : 

  • To champion/support the provision of strategic advice to governments and project developers regarding the implementation of CCS projects.
  • Lead project teams to assist Clients in the development of new international power plants with CCS.
  • Tasks will include conceptual design, performance modelling, feasibility studies, conceptual design & front end engineering design, specification, tendering, consent applications, inputs to financial models and project contracts, project management and design review.
  • Strategic and technical appraisal of international CCS projects and development of knowledge transfer provisions for CCS demonstration projects.
  • Develop ‘in-house' CCS technical capabilities & work methods.
  • Promotion of clients CCS related expertise, including business development, proposals and participation in conferences.
  • Working in liaison with Financial and Legal advisers may be required.
  • Define and delegate tasks to supporting discipline engineers.
  • Provide specialist input to project teams as necessary.
  • Travel nationally and overseas in pursuit of the above duties and for attendance at technical meetings with clients and contractors as appropriate.
