Our client is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to assist with the development and growth of their UK Renewable Energy Services Wind division.

 Primary Responsibilities: -

 
As a key position in this European team for development and build out of services for renewable energy services, the Business Development Manager, Renewable Energy, UK will:
 
Together with the Business Development Director of Renewable Energy Europe outline and formulate the Business Plan for Renewable Energy/Wind Energy Services in UK.
Have the overall responsibility for business development and roll out of our client’s renewable energy/wind energy services in UK.
Responsible for the execution and performance of wind energy projects and being involved in the acquisition of such projects ensuring that our client’s services are carried out in accordance with the technical requirements of the wind industry.
Involvement in the management of wind energy projects including establishing the required links to the clients’ field service or freelancers and guarantee the necessary information flow.
Identify opportunities and services to be implemented in the clients service portfolio.
Support the Business Development Director Renewable Energy, Europe.
Support the sales process as well as client meetings with her/ his capability.

Specifically These Responsibilities Are To: -
 
1. Business Development 
 
One of the main tasks of the Business Development Manager will be to roll out the clients wind energy services and establish a strong UK/ European client base.
The Business Development Manager will lead and drive the sales to the main clients being utility companies, wind farm developers, banks and insurance companies in UK.
Identification of possible, relevant acquisition targets within the wind industry in UK is also within the responsibility of the Business Development Manager
In terms of market segments in particular the offshore wind market will be the focus area of business development.
 
2. Project Management
 
Prepare quotations and scopes of work related to the specific project.
Follow up on the projects.
Involved in/ support for project execution.
Support other offices to perform the project management and execution.
Follow up on on-going projects - customer contact.
Select/ appoint and mobilise/ accept project experts, project coordinators, inspectors or freelancers (partly together with respective client office).
 
Profile: -
 
You will be a manager with 5-10 years experience in the wind energy business and a focus on business development of services within the wind industry. Knowledge of, and experience with certification, consultancy, inspection and testing of wind turbines and wind farm projects are also required qualifications for this position.
An existing client “data base” and direct contact to decision makers would be an advantage.
Skills:
 
Professional Qualifications:
 
Minimum of five years experience in a sales, marketing or business development function focusing on selling highly technical services to a diverse customer base.
Experience introducing new service offerings or entering new market segments is highly desirable.
Experience in the UK wind energy market and knowledge of both the onshore and offshore wind energy industry.
Exposure to wind-related technical professional services, such as project certification, type certification, site analysis, risk assessment, offshore and project design would be of great value.
Executive level experience working within the wind energy consulting industry is highly preferred.
Business Development skills to identify new clients, markets and services and being able to sell these services to the potential clients.
Candidates should ideally have a deep knowledge of the structure of the wind energy industry as well as an established rolodex of contacts within the technical staff/ decision makers at major turbine manufacturers, project owners and developers.
Ability to devise and enact effective brand recognition and brand positioning strategies and serve as an enthusiastic evangelist for our client.
Excellent key account management skills and the ability to ensure repeat business.
Demonstrated in-depth understanding of sales operations: how to make deals happen; how to structure deals and articulate the details to management; how to apply appropriate discipline, tools, rewards and accountability to the sales process.
A can do attitude - setting aggressive, measurable goals and objectives for him/herself and prepared to be measured against them; be motivated to achieve specific, challenging and focused results personally and for the team; and lead the organization to meet and/or exceed expectations.
Strong presence as a leader and ability to quickly establish credibility and build relationships, both internally with management, peers and staff, as well as externally with customers, analysts and key people in the industry.
Excellent business judgment, including the ability to assess the reasonableness and likelihood of success of various business alternatives.
Global perspective, awareness and ability to understand customers' logistics execution needs beyond their domestic operations. 
A distinct customer service focus.
Articulate with strong writing and presentation skills would be an advantage. In addition, this executive will possess strong capabilities, be process-oriented and attentive to detail.
