An exciting new opportunity now exists for a BD/ Sales Manager with experience in the renewables sector to take a leading role in the development and growth of this energy company.
Our client is the new division of a highly established international energy company with its initial core products to include Solar, Biomass, CHP, LPG-Diesel and Energy Efficiency.
Our client is currently recruiting for a Business Development and Sales Manager for their offices in Leicestershire.
The purpose of this position is to lead and deliver significant growth in sales of Solar PV, Biomass and CHP solutions to commercial customers.
The successful applicant will have: -
o 5+ years experience working in the energy industry, preferably with renewable energy experience
o Relevant degree in engineering (BEng), energy (BSc) or business (BA) at 2:1 level or above, a masters degree in business would be an advantage
o Experience of working in a professional, customer focused environment
o Proven track record in a consultative/technical sales environment
o Understanding of what makes a good entrepreneurial business and a desire to succeed within a company of this type

Key Responsibilities for this role include: -
Analytical Business Development:
o Develop a business plan for growth in core product areas. The plan will include analysis of the customer value proposition for each product, economic returns and financial planning, sales and marketing strategy, competitive intensity and key risks.
o Assess the existing client customer base and select the highest potential customer groups
o Identify new business opportunities in the core product areas
o Understand and maintain knowledge of regulatory support available to the business and its customers
o Refine the business plan and business development activities on the basis of customer feedback and changes in the marketplace or regulatory environment.
Sales Delivery and Management:
o Drive overall sales growth in core product areas of Solar PV, Biomass and CHP with commercial customers
o Work with the sales teams of the clients current oil and LPG businesses to develop a pipeline of customer leads
o Create additional new customer leads independent of the oil and LPG businesses
o Meet potential customers to assess their overall energy needs and determine which New Energy product or service best supports these needs
o Convert customer leads into delivered sales by writing and submitting proposals, negotiating terms and completing deals
o Select and manage third party delivery partners for the design, installation and maintenance of core products sold to customers
o Lead the overall sales process and project delivery from start to successful completion
This position includes an excellent basic salary, bonus scheme, company car or allowance as chosen, and 25 days holiday per year in addition to bank holidays.
